Job Description

Summary: Person in charge of all processes conducted on 2nd shift. Includes but not limited to Packaging, Warehouse, Lube Blending, Maintenance, and Quality. Ensures all associates follow safety, environmental, and quality processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages to ensure all operations and associates on 2nd shift follow all Safety Policies.
Trains, evaluates, coaches and mentors associates. Includes cross training associates on 2nd shift to function in multiple areas and ensures the production schedule is completed.
Manages to ensure all operations under their management follow relevant Work Instructions and Standard Work practices to avoid nonconformance. Leads to correct nonconformance when detected.
Manages the movement of raw material to production areas in support of the production schedule for packaging and lube blending. Ensures remaining raw materials are timely and properly returned to inventory after production runs are completed.
Manages the timely and accurate movement of finished packaged goods from production lines to the finished goods warehouse. Ensures finished goods are properly and accurately stored in bins in the warehouse.
Ensures sales orders are picked and staged for shipping.
Ensures all documentation is accurately and timely completed for all 2nd shift processes.
Works closely with Quality Control associate to ensure no quality issues. Timely reports quality concerns to additional management members as needed to resolve the issue.
Manages maintenance activity on 2nd shift.
Manage 5S, Housekeeping and daily checks to ensure completion.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and work practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves worker grievances quickly and fairly while following company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Three (3) to Five (5) years of manufacturing management
Knowledge of and experience in blending, packaging, warehouse, maintenance, and quality are preferred
Automotive experience is preferred
ISO experience is preferred
Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance is preferred
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and three (3) to five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred. An understanding of Safety Principles is required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve problems and ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word word-processing software; Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Navision inventory software.
Certificates and Licenses: Ability to obtain a Forklift license is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct and indirect supervision for up to 20 employees. Is responsible to assist in the direction, coordination, and evaluation of these associates. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
