Job Description

What will the Accessory Installer do?  

The accessory installer is responsible for the installation, testing, and repair of various accessories. They collaborate with the team to determine accessory needs, provide recommendations, and estimate costs. This role involves running wiring, installing hardware, and connecting electrical components when necessary. 

 

What is the Accessory Installer responsible for? 

  1. Installs, tests, and repairs accessories.
  2. Consults with the team on accessory requirements; provides accessory recommendations and cost estimates.
  3. Runs wiring and circuits, installs hardware, and attaches electrical wires if needed for accessories.
  4. Inspects and tests accessories as required.
  5. Replaces malfunctioning accessories when necessary.
  6. Ensures accessories comply with manufacturer installation procedures.
  7. Explains and demonstrates accessory function and operation to end users.
  8. Performs other related duties as required. 

Job Requirements

What knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the Accessory Installer role? 

  1. Extensive knowledge of accessory installation.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to read accessory installation manuals.
  4. Ability to use hand and power tools to install accessories.
  5. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  6. Vocational/technical school training highly preferred; on-the-job training may be provided.
  7. Two years of related experience preferred

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit/stand for most of his/her job duties. There is the need to frequently walk and sit. There will be a great deal of prolonged periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and reaching for some of his/her job duties. Must be physically able to install system hardware and wiring.

  • Visual requirements include reading off a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a telephone console.  
  •  
  • Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person.  
  • There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of more than 35 lbs.
