Job Description

Job Overview
In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining foundry patterns and related tooling at our modern and air-conditioned facility.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding
  • Use all machinists and patternmaker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully
  • Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal, plastic and wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates
  • Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments
  • Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .001
  • Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor or group leader
  • Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Have previously completed a Patternmaker apprenticeship program
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a toolroom environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design models
  • Excellent fine motor skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work to a deadline
  • Ability to adhere to company rules and guidelines, including daily attendance
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
  • Work in a union shop

CNC mill and/or ram EDM setup and operation experience preferred
