Job Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance:
o Perform inspections and extensive preventative maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment parts, changing belts, replacing filters, checking fluid levels, inspecting drives and motors, and other maintenance actions as listed on checklists.
Repairs and Troubleshooting:
o Conduct detailed diagnostic tests, routine repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustments on equipment/facilities.
o Inspect, adjust, and replace components such as valves, pistons, and main bearing assemblies.
o Perform general mechanical overhaul and repair work on motors, control systems, pneumatic systems, resistance welding systems, and hydraulic systems.
o Conduct minor welding, modify equipment, and fabricate parts as needed or directed.
o Disassemble defective hydraulic components, replace/repair, and reassemble.
o Read pressure gauges and detect abnormal oil pressure and overheated oil smells.
o Use standard testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Maintenance and Installation:
o Respond to emergency maintenance requests and manage assigned daily work orders.
o Assist with the installation of new equipment as requested.
o Keep detailed records of work performed and ensure the work area is clean post-maintenance.
o Assist with renovation and remodeling of buildings/workstations as needed.
o Obtain correct replacement parts from inventory and advise the Parts Room Clerk on ordering needs.
Safety and Compliance:
o Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
o Ensure all safety standards are followed when working on equipment.
o Maintain professional and courteous interactions with vendors, contractors, customers, and colleagues.
o Alert maintenance supervisor of unusual occurrences or potential damage.
Training and Supervision:
o Mentor lower-level maintenance employees and equipment operators on maintenance issues.
o Provide direction to lower-level workers or equipment operators as needed for special projects.
Technical Knowledge and Growth:
o Grow technical knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing publications, and establishing networks.
o Maintain and use tools, equipment, and supplies efficiently.
o Conserve maintenance resources and keep track of company tools.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General knowledge of OSHA and HAZMAT regulations (certification preferred).
Thorough understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including reading schematics.
First Aid knowledge.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Effective communication skills with employees, managers, and senior management.
Strong mechanical and electrical technical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, equipment manuals, and parts catalogs.
Basic knowledge of industrial power systems, electricity, and oil and gas machinery.
Skill in operating cutting torches or welding equipment.
Ability to inspect, test, monitor, and measure safe environmental levels.
Capacity to identify, diagnose, and report major mechanical malfunctions.
Excellent organizational skills, time management, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Valid driver s license.
Ability to respond to emergency and non-emergency situations, work long hours, weekends, and handle physical tasks.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds, work in a noisy environment, and use protective equipment.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant with extreme temperature fluctuations.
Dusty and noisy environment with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
