Job Description

Job Summary: The Material Service Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials required for production and operations. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, overseeing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of materials for production and operations. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Liaise with suppliers to place orders, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues related to material quality or delivery.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to various departments or production areas. Manage logistics to ensure materials are delivered on time and in the correct quantities.
Inspect materials upon receipt to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Address and resolve any issues related to material defects or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of material inventory, orders, and usage. Prepare reports on inventory levels, material usage, and supplier performance.
Identify and implement improvements in material handling and supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and address material-related challenges.
Supervise the handling and warehousing of production materials and finished products
Receives and inspects incoming products
Maintain and manage physical storage and handling systems in the warehouse.
Supervise order filling, shipment of product and maintenance of inventory and shipping records
Serve as the liaison between departments regarding shipping and receiving activity.
Oversee checking, packing, crating, banding, labeling and weighing of orders for shipment.
Participate and assist in physical inventory
Administer performance appraisals
Supervise and develop direct reports
Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of associates and management
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good organizational skills

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum requirement: High School Diploma
Experience: 1-5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics roles, preferred in manufacturing.
Skills:
o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
o Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Physical Requirements:
Vocal Communication must be able to give concise directions and exchange ideas in a dynamic, often noisy, stressful work environment; open office environment.
Hearing Perception Ability to recognize information at normal spoken levels and/or ability to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or make fine distinctions in sound.
Sensory Utilization Prepare and analyze written or computer data.
Physical Activities required standing, walking, and sitting. May occasionally reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Visual Acuity there are no special vision requirements.
