Position Summary

The Night Shift Metals Production Supervisor is responsible for leading production operations during the night shift while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. This role supervises production employees, drives continuous improvement initiatives, maintains production standards, and ensures customer requirements are met through effective leadership and process management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Establish work priorities, communicate expectations, and monitor daily production activities.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to maximize performance and engagement.
  • Maintain staffing levels through hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
  • Monitor production processes, equipment performance, and workflow to optimize efficiency.
  • Adjust production processes as needed to ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Identify production issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Review production schedules, work orders, reports, and performance metrics to meet production requirements.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including:
    • Time and attendance records
    • Vacation and holiday scheduling
    • Production reporting
    • Backorder and past-due order reviews
    • Safety documentation and incident reporting
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supervising production teams in a metals, fabrication, assembly, or industrial manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge is preferred.
