Position Overview

The Staffing Team Lead plays a critical role in launching and managing a growing staffing services program. This position is responsible for leading daily recruiting and staffing operations while managing and developing a small team supporting an entry level temporary workforce for an existing client.

This is a hands on leadership role requiring someone who can recruit, place, and support employees while also building structure, guiding the team, and ensuring consistent service delivery in a startup environment. The Staffing Team Lead serves as both an operational leader and a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and the client.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and support recruiters and staffing coordinators within an expanding service area
  • Set daily priorities, monitor workloads, and ensure accountability for performance and results
  • Provide guidance on candidate screening, hiring decisions, and employee issue resolution
  • Foster a positive, professional, and compliant work culture for internal staff and temporary employees
  • Act as the primary escalation point for staffing, employees, or operational challenges

Talent Acquisition & Staffing Operations

  • Oversee and actively participate in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing entry level temporary employees
  • Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of candidates to meet ongoing client demand
  • Ensure timely onboarding, credentialing, and readiness of all placed workers
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and retention, address issues proactively

 Client Support & Relationship Management

  • Support service delivery for the assigned client by ensuring staffing levels and quality expectations are met
  • Communicate staffing updates, challenges, and solutions clearly and professionally
  • Partner internally to adjust staffing strategies based on client needs and volume changes
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the client’s work environment and expectations

Compliance, Documentation & Systems

  • Ensure all candidate and employee documentation meets legal, regulatory, and client specific requirements
  • Maintain accurate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS) and related platforms
  • Support onboarding requirements including background checks, drug screens, and I 9 verification
  • Reinforce compliance with employment laws, company policies, and safety standards

Process Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in building and refining staffing processes, workflows, and best practices
  • Track and report key staffing metrics such as fill rates, retention, and time to fill
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions
  • Contribute to scaling the operation as additional volume or customers are added

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, staffing, or workforce operations (temporary staffing preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, or mentor others
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Professional communication skills with candidates, clients, and internal partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ATS platforms

Preferred

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial work environments
  • Experience in automotive, entry level, high volume, or light industrial staffing
  • Experience supporting a new program, branch, or startup operation
  • Knowledge of employment laws and staffing compliance standards
